OK – I messed up – looked at an old #BlogElul list and posted Day 3 (Prepare) as Day 1. Will post the real Day 1 (Act) in a few. And practice some mindfulness when I post the remaining days. Oy! My apologies!
Preparing for annual journey
into soul’s inner workings
noticing where it has
“missed the mark” (no blame/sin)
over the past year.
Readying self to delve deep
into turgid rapids of rage
ignoring warning signs
blinking brightly within eyesight
motioning toward shore.
No connect yet with reasons
for rage’s rapid response
inability to draw breath before
inevitable explosions at
seemingly smallest affronts.
Elul’s itinerary is reframing rage:
Recognize
Accept
Germinate
Expand.
Once again, I’m participating in #BlogElul, which I have followed for a few years. In past years, I’ve found it helpful as I ponder and reflect in the month before the High Holidays – Yamim Noraim. Check out some of the amazing themed posts geared around the work and joy of Elul – of introspection and reflection in the days leading to the High Holy Days (Organized by Ima Bima.) You can read prior years’ #blogElul posts via the Elul tag.
